Moses Horowitz
Moses Horowitz , actually Moische Isaak Ha-Levi Horowitz , (also Hurvitz , born February 27, 1844 in Stanisławów , Galicia ; died March 4, 1910 in New York ) was a Yiddish playwright and theater director. He wrote over 169 plays.
Life
Moische Horowitz was born in Stanisławów, Galicia (now Ivano-Frankiwsk in Ukraine) in 1844. At the age of 18 he went to Iași in Romania, later to Bucharest . In 1877 he came to Abraham Goldfaden and his Yiddish theater. He wrote his first plays, also for the theater groups of Israel Grodner and Sigmund Mogulescu.
In 1884 he went to London , in 1886 to the USA. There he wrote more dramas. He died in 1910.
