Most - The Bridge is an Austrian short film whose content is based on a true story from the Bosnian War in 1992.
action
The film is about one of the ethnic cleansing operations during the Bosnian war. In this film adaptation, young civilians, supposedly potential soldiers, are driven from the village to the bridge by the Serbian soldiers. One of the missing was the 17-year-old uncle of the author and director, Haris Bilajbegovic . The short film was shot on the original location , in the vicinity of Sanski Most .
Others
Many of the actors were contemporary witnesses of this event. Bilajbegović's grandparents were also forced to leave their youngest son behind on the bridge. The main role was played by the author and director's grandfather.
Due to the lack of financial means, the planned feature film became a short film. With the great support from the family and the local people, the film was made in the summer of 2006 within a week. The Viennese film company illuminati film supported Bilajbegović in film production.
The film screened at over 60 national and international film festivals and won over 20 awards. Another film by Bilajbegović is Svjedok - The Witness .
It is a major concern of the author and director Bilajbegović to erect a memorial for all known and unknown war victims and their relatives.
