The M-9 Motorway is a highway under construction in Pakistan . The highway runs in an east-west direction from Karachi to Hyderabad in the south of the country and is 136 kilometers long.

construction

Originally the road was called "Super Highway" because it was signposted as "National Highway" due to the development of two lanes per lane.

modernization

In May 2011 the tender for the extension to the "Motorway" was started by the National Highway Authority . In January 2012, a public-private partnership contract was signed with the Malay construction company Bina Puri Holdings Bhd . As operator model was Build Operate Transfer (BOT) set. The construction costs are around 24.93 billion Pakistani rupees (equivalent to 203.8 million euros ).

From 2012 to 2015 the road will be expanded and modernized so that in future it will be signposted as a “Motorway” with the numbering M-9 . The road will be expanded to three lanes per lane. The three-year construction period will begin in February 2012; After completion, the motorway will be operated for 25 years by the construction company as the operating company. The concession therefore lasts for 28 years.
