Mount Morris is a location in Genesee County , Michigan , north of Flint , that was first settled by white Americans around 1833 . It was named in 1867 after the city of the same name in New York , from which many settlers came. The place has about 3,200 inhabitants and an area of ​​3.1 km².

The place gained notoriety on February 29, 2000 when a six-year-old boy shot and killed a six-year-old classmate in elementary school.
