Mount Neder is a 1010 m high mountain with a small and pointed peak in the north of the East Antarctic Victoria Land . In the Anare Mountains, it looms in the northwestern part of Quam Heights .
The United States Geological Survey mapped it based on its own measurements and aerial photographs of the United States Navy from 1960 to 1963. The Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names named it in 1970 after Irving Robert Neder (1931-1996), geologist in the United States Antarctic Research Program who served in the Ohio Range and Wisconsin Range from 1965 to 1966 and in the McMurdo Sound area from 1966 to 1967 .
