Mountain View is a census-designated place (settlement area defined for statistical purposes) in Contra Costa County , California . In 2010 the place had 2372 inhabitants. The area has an area of ​​only around 0.7 km² and is enclosed on three sides by the urban area of Martinez . In terms of demographic character, the settlement is comparable to the city, but it does not belong politically.
