The mountain bike tour Links der Tauber (also LT 13 on signs ) is an approximately 40 kilometer long mountain bike circuit in Tauberbischofsheim in the Main-Tauber district .

history

On May 5, 2007, the mountain bike tour Links der Tauber was officially opened by the Tauberbischofsheimer Mayor Wolfgang Vockel at the market square fountain of the district town. The route was marked with red signs with the number LT 13, as it is the 13th mountain bike tour in the lovely Taubertal , and a white biker. The tour was developed by Willy Militzer in cooperation with the city of Tauberbischofsheim and the district forest office of the Main-Tauber district. On April 22, 2016, the SWR reported on the mountain bike trails around Tauberbischofsheim in a TV report.

Profile and characteristics

The tour runs through Tauberbischofsheim and its districts Dittwar , Dittigheim , Dittwar station , Dienstadt and Hochhausen back to Tauberbischofsheim always on the left side of the Tauber . Hence the name Links der Tauber . The circuit has a length of around 40 km and around 840 meters in altitude. The signposted route runs on bike paths, forest paths and single trails . It is passable all year round.

The mountain bike tour Links der Tauber begins and ends at the Schlossplatz at the Kurmainzisches Schloss in Tauberbischofsheim. Variants and connections

The tour, which runs in a star shape around Tauberbischofsheim, can be shortened or extended in several places. The tour can be continued along the Tauber on the Taubertal Cycle Path. Additional single trails run in the area of ​​the Tauberbischofsheimer Bismarck tower and in Hochhausen. The tour running to the left of the Tauber can be continued on bicycle and forest paths on the right side of the river.
