The Dittwar station is a small settlement as well as an industrial area and former station of the city of Tauberbischofsheim in the Main-Tauber district in Baden-Württemberg .

geography

Location of the industrial area and residential area at Dittwar station

The Dittwarer Bahnhof is at the mouth of the Muckbach in the Brehmbachtal . About one kilometer south is the Heidenkessel settlement and two kilometers south is Dittwar , about four kilometers northwest is Königheim and about two kilometers northeast is Tauberbischofsheim.

history

In the village there is a station on the former Tauberbischofsheim – Königheim railway , which was used for passenger traffic from December 1, 1914 to May 26, 1968. The goods handling department at Dittwar station was still very busy until 1968. All resident companies handled their entire goods turnover through the station. In 1932, apart from the train station, there was no other building in today's residential and industrial area, as an old district map shows.

The former station building has been privately owned since 1981. During the Corpus Christi flood in 1984, the track bed of the railway embankment ( ) near the residential and industrial area was destroyed and subsequently rebuilt. The railway section from Tauberbischofsheim to the industrial area at Dittwarer Bahnhof remained until the 1990s as a siding for local companies.
