The Königshofen (Baden) train station is the station of Königshofen , a district of Lauda-Königshofen in Main-Tauber-Kreis in Baden-Wuerttemberg . In Königshofen, the Königshofen – Crailsheim line branches off from the Mosbach-Neckarelz – Würzburg line .

location

The station building is located at Eisenbahnstrasse 1 in Königshofen, not far from the confluence of the Umpfer and the Tauber . The Frankenbahn leaves the Taubertal in Königshofen and branches off into the Umpfertal. The Königshofen – Crailsheim railway, on the other hand, follows the Taubertal up to Weikersheim .

history

The Königshofen (Baden) station was opened on November 1, 1866, when the 53.48 kilometer section of the Heidelberg – Würzburg line between Osterburken and Lauda was put into operation. On October 23, 1869, the Grand Ducal Baden State Railways opened the line in the Taubertal, since then Königshofen has been a separation station .

The station was given its current appearance in the 1970s. On June 1, 1970, it was converted into a branch of the Lauda train station. In 1978 the last two employees left the station. It has been vacant since then. At the end of the 1980s, the Deutsche Bundesbahn sold buildings and land to the city of Lauda-Königshofen.

At the Königshöfer Fair 2016, the Historical & Cultural Group presented an exhibition in their club rooms in the town hall, which was dedicated to the 150th birthday of the station. At the end of the 2010s there was renovation work at the Königshofen train station.
