The Boxberg-Wölchingen station is the station of Boxberg and its directly adjoining district Wölchingen in Main-Tauber-Kreis in Baden-Wuerttemberg . It lies on the Mosbach-Neckarelz-Würzburg railway line .
history
The railroad reached Boxberg for the first time on November 1, 1866. The station building in Boxberg was completed in time for the line to open. One year later, in 1867, the first freight train drove through the Umpfertal near Boxberg. The reception building has largely been preserved in its original state to this day. More train stops were requested from the local population in the 2010s. Since December 15, 2019, there has been a three-year trial operation with hourly stops Monday to Friday between Osterburken and Lauda.
Investments
Today only the two main tracks are left. For safety reasons, passenger trains are only handled at the house platform, and there are corresponding switch connections.
Monument protection
The reception building is located on Frankendomstrasse in Wölchingen. The reception building, a caretaker's house and the goods hall are under monument protection .
