The Markelsheim Station is an operating agency of the railway line Crailsheim-Königshofen . It is located in the Bad Mergentheim district of Markelsheim in the Main-Tauber district in Baden-Württemberg . There are two level crossings at the east and west end of the station .
history
On October 23, 1869, the Royal Württemberg State Railways opened the station with the Crailsheim - Mergentheim section . The station building has been preserved in its original form to this day.
The station is equipped with a mechanical interlocking in the reception building and form signals .
Monument protection
The former reception building with outbuildings at Bad Mergentheimer Straße 2 is a listed building . It is part of the totality of Württembergische Taubertalbahn. The station building is a two-storey, eaves - standing structure with a gable roof , made of massive shell limestone and structured by brick elements; on the ground floor there are arched openings , on the upper floor there are coupled windows with neo-Renaissance period walls ; Erected around 1870. To the east of it, an eaves storage shed with a gable roof, the facade boarded up, carved on the verge; two wide gates and a wooden ramp on the eaves; around 1870.
