The station Edelfingen , today only one breakpoint , is an operating agency of the railway line Crailsheim-Königshofen . It is located in the Bad Mergentheim district of Edelfingen in the Main-Tauber district in Baden-Württemberg .

history

The station building was erected in 1869 . On October 23, 1869, the Grand Ducal Baden State Railways opened the station with the 7.40 km long section from Königshofen in Baden via Edelfingen to Mergentheim .

In November 1992 the Deutsche Bundesbahn dismantled tracks 2 and 3. In 1994, Deutsche Bahn sold the station building and the last two officers left the station. With the departure of the railway staff, the level crossing was converted to an automatic barrier system.

The reception building has been preserved in its original form and has been used as a restaurant on the ground floor since a renovation in 1994/1995. In 1997 the former train station received an award for exemplary construction in an architecture competition.

The former station building at Wilhelm-Frank-Straße 12 is a listed building .
