Landmark and location of the city of Tauberbischofsheim with all parts of the city

The list of cultural monuments in Tauberbischofsheim contains immovable architectural and art monuments from all parts of the city of Tauberbischofsheim . The basis for this list is the list of architectural and art monuments published by the Stuttgart Regional Council as of February 15, 2012.

The article is part of the higher-level list of cultural monuments in the Main-Tauber district . This list is not legally binding. Legally binding information is only available on request from the Lower Monument Protection Authority of the city of Tauberbischofsheim.

The Main-Tauber district , with the district town of Tauberbischofsheim, is the district in Baden-Württemberg with the most extant atonement crosses , after Bernhard Losch . There are eighteen known murder and atonement crosses in Tauberbischofsheim alone, as well as four open-air crossroads , three of which have fourteen and one with seven stations. Other small monuments such as wayside shrines, boundary stones and statues have been preserved in large numbers in the city area. According to Losch, the reason lies in the rural structure of the district since the Middle Ages. In modern times there was no densification of settlement and industry as in the metropolitan areas, so that these cultural monuments were largely preserved in the open air . There are several hundred cultural monuments in Tauberbischofsheim and its districts. Therefore this list is divided into partial lists for the individual districts of Tauberbischofsheim .
