Mourtala Diakité (born October 1, 1980 in Bamako ) is a former Malian football player and national player.

Career

Club career

Diakité only moved to Europe at the age of 24. After two successful positions in Portugal at SC Beira-Mar and Boavista Porto , he moved to Dinamo Bucharest in Romania in the summer of 2008 for a transfer fee of € 500,000 . There he only came to six missions and returned to Portugal during the winter break, to Belenenses Lisbon . There he was a regular in midfield and played with his club against relegation. After relegation in 2009 he was loaned out to league rival Marítimo Funchal for half a year in the winter of 2009/10 . There he sat on the bench before he played the last games of the 2009/10 season over the full distance. He and his team qualified for the Europa League .

In the summer of 2010, Shandong Luneng Taishan brought Diakité to the Chinese Super League . There he won the championship in 2010 . Then he left the club again and moved to Guangdong Sunray Cave in the second Chinese division . He missed promotion with his team at the end of the 2011 season .

In the summer of 2012 Diakité returned to Belenenses Lisbon, which now played in the Segunda League . When he was promoted in 2013 , he was one of the top performers. In early 2014 he left the club and joined the Angolan first division club Sport Luanda e Benfica . He played there for two years before switching to CD Primeiro de Agosto , where he ended his career at the end of 2016.

National team

Between 2001 and 2004 Diakité played 30 times for the Malian national team and scored six goals.
