Reviews

Derek Tse wrote on Jam! Movies , the film is not particularly funny for a comedy. There are only a few successful gags. The length of the film seems much longer than it is. The representations are good - especially those by Ratner, Berkley and Neville. That wouldn't be enough to save the film, however.

Susan Walker wrote in the Toronto Star that the film was touching in some places, but it didn't touch the weird side.

Awards

Benjamin Ratner won a 2003 World Film Festival award and a 2004 Washington DC Independent Film Festival award . Rebecca Harker won the 2004 Vancouver Film Critics Circle Award and the Hertfordshire Film Festival Jury Prize , and was nominated for the 2004 Canadian Leo Award .

background

For the role of Liz Woodward, Jennifer Beals was first engaged. Due to the scheduling problems, she decided not to work and recommended Elizabeth Berkley, a friend of Beals, for this role .

The film was shot in Vancouver , with a budget estimated at one million dollars rotated. It had its world premiere on August 30, 2003 at the World Film Festival in Montreal ( Montréal Film Festival ). On October 8, 2003, it was screened at the Vancouver International Film Festival , followed by participation in numerous other film festivals.
