Muglitz is a district of the town of Putbus in the Vorpommern-Rügen district in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania .

Geography and transport links

Muglitz is located southeast of the core town of Putbus directly on the Greifswalder Bodden . The state road 29 runs north and further away northeast the B 196 . West is the 157  ha large nature reserve Goor-Muglitz .

history

The place name comes from the Slavic “mogyla” and means “earth, burial mound”. In the middle of the 19th century, Muglitz was mentioned as a fisherman's apartment, but it was probably only built around this time. In 1867 the place belonged to Freetz ; At that time it consisted of two houses with a total of eleven residents.
