Muhammad Mian Soomro , Urdu محمد میاں سومرو, (Born August 19, 1950 in Karachi ) is a Pakistani politician. On August 18, 2008, following the resignation of President Pervez Musharraf, he took over his duties on a constitutional basis. From November 16, 2007 to March 25, 2008 he was Prime Minister . Prior to that, he had been Chairman of the Senate of Pakistan since 2003 . He is active for the Pakistani Muslim League . Soomro comes from a long politically active family in Sindh .

Soomro attended Sadiq Public School in Bahawalpur , Forman Christian College University (B. Sc.) And the University of the Punjab (M. Sc. In Physics) in Lahore and Northrop University (California, M. Sc. In Operations Management ) in the USA .

Career as a banker

Soomro was involved in the introduction of micro credit banking in Pakistan .
