Muharrem Kasa (born January 24, 1977 in Istanbul ) is a former Turkish football goalkeeper .

Career

society

Kasa started his club football career in the early 1990s with the Istanbul club Bakırköyspor . Although he only had an amateur contract here, he was included in the professional squad in the spring of 1995 and made his professional debut during the second division game on May 7, 1995 against Istanbul Büyükşehir Belediyespor . By the end of the season he completed another second division game for his club. After he was used regularly in the coming season, he received a professional contract from his club in February 1996. In his second season with the professionals, he increased his number of appearances to nine league games before he was a regular goalkeeper in his third season.

In the summer of 1997 he moved to city and league rivals Zeytinburnuspor . Here he won the goalkeeper position straight away and was also called up to the Turkish U-21 national team. After these developments, the first division club Gaziantepspor signed him . At this club he could not prevail against the goalkeeper Ömer Çatkıç , but came in his first season to a total of eight competitive appearances. In his second season he stayed without a competitive game for the entire season and was left behind against Çatkıç, Hasan Okan Validang and Saliou Diallo . However, he was part of the team that achieved the best first division placement in the club's history with third place in the table in the 1999/2000 season and thus qualified for the first time for the European club competitions. Also in the next season Kasa reached 3rd place in the table with his team without playing. Here you got the chance of the runner-up until the penultimate matchday and only missed it on the penultimate matchday in a home defeat against the direct competitor Galatasaray Istanbul .

After two seasons without a game for Gaziantepspor Kaza was loaned to the second division side Siirt Jet-Pa Spor in the summer of 2001 . In the summer of 2002 he returned to Gaziantepspor and remained in the squad as a substitute keeper for another season. For the 2003 season he finally left Gaziantepspor and hired the second division side Türk Telekomspor . He then played for various second and third division teams in the following years and ended his professional career in summer 2008.

In the summer of 2012 he made a comeback as an amateur player and hired the Istanbul club Damlaspor. After half a season he moved within the league to Istanbul Bağcılar SK and played the second half of the season here.

National team

After moving to the summer of 1995, Kasa was nominated for the first time for the squad of the Turkish U-21 national team in February 1995 and was one of the regularly nominated players for a year. In a total of nine nominations, he came to two stakes.
