The municipality of San Benito is a district in the department of Cochabamba in the South American Andean state of Bolivia .
Location in the vicinity
The municipality of San Benito is one of five municipalities in the province of Punata . It borders on the province of Chapare to the northwest , the province of Germán Jordán to the west, the municipality of Punata to the south and southeast and the province of Tiraque to the northeast .
The central place of the municipality is San Benito with 4,221 inhabitants in the central part of the municipality. ( 2012 census )
geography
The municipality of San Benito is located in the transition area between the Bolivian Altiplano in the west and the Bolivian lowlands in the east.
The mean average temperature of the region is just under 18 ° C (see climate diagram Cochabamba) and fluctuates only slightly between 14 ° C in June and July and 20 ° C in November. The annual precipitation is around 450 mm, with a pronounced dry season from May to September with monthly precipitation below 10 mm, and a humidity period from December to February with 90 to 110 mm monthly precipitation.
