Murielle Rousseau

Murielle Rousseau (born October 13, 1966 in St. Germain-en-Laye near Paris , France ) is a Franco-German author, university lecturer, columnist, translator and owner of the PR and culture agency BUCH CONTACT.

Life

Rousseau was born in Saint-Germain-en-Laye . From 1972 to 1984 she attended the Lycée International de Saint-Germain-en-Laye , which she graduated with a Baccalauréat (Abitur) in 1984. From 1984 to 1992 she studied at the Sorbonne Université in Paris. Her major areas of study focused on expression and communication, audiovisual media, and French literature . She studied modern German literary history, Romance studies and linguistics at the Albert Ludwig University of Freiburg . Topic of the master's thesis at Roebling: "The literary salon of the writer Fanny Lewald"

From 1984 to 1992 she worked as a translator (Frz.-Dt / Dt-Frz.) For international companies and as a research assistant at the linguistic seminar at the Albert Ludwig University of Freiburg (1988–1992). She worked at various international congresses a. a. on architecture (Paris, Lisbon ) and was an assistant in the preparation of scientific symposia for the Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft Freiburg. She worked for the literary magazine “Das Forum”, responsible for the “Panorama” section.

From 1992 to 1995 translations from the American, reviews and interviews. At the same time she worked in the editing department of several publishers, first at Argument Verlag , Oetinger , Hoffmann & Campe , Rowohlt and most recently from 1993 to 1995 as head of press and public relations as well as the rights and licensing department of Kellner Verlag , Hamburg .

In 1995 she founded the PR agency BUCH CONTACT specializing in press and public relations work as well as consulting for international publishers, authors, cultural institutions and museums with 20 employees (as of 2019) and locations initially only in Hamburg, later in Freiburg and Berlin ; u. a. She was responsible for the PR concept and the implementation of international PR on behalf of the French Ministry of Culture and the Institut Français in 2016 and 2017 by Francfort en français , France's guest country appearance at the Frankfurt Book Fair.

Rousseau regularly moderates and interprets events and discussions.

She is a co-founder and was a long-time board member and spokeswoman for the AVP (Arbeitskreis Verlags-PR eV). In 2016 she founded an international offshoot of the AVP, the AVP International Network. She heads the AVP regional group for South Baden and Switzerland. She was a long-time member and press spokeswoman for the BücherFrauen Hamburg and a collaborative author of the Reading Foundation.

Murielle Rousseau holds various teaching positions at universities in Germany and France and teaches in both German and French. She has been the author of several books on French culture and cuisine since 2007, which have received various international awards. She reads and presents her books regularly in German-speaking and French countries. From 2007 to 2016 she was a regular live guest on the SWR TV show “Kaffee oder Tee” on French cuisine and Francophone topics. She writes for various industry journals, u. a. Börsenblatt , BUCHMARKT or BÜCHER about France and the French industry.
