The Muscat Bleu (also Garnier 83/2 or nutmeg bleu) is an early maturing red wine that has a high resistance to real and downy mildew has. It is also characterized by high frost resistance. What makes it special are its yellow autumn leaves and a clearly perceptible nutmeg .

The grape variety Muscat Bleu is a cross of the Swiss grapevine grower Garnier from Garnier 15/6 x Seyve-Villard 20-347, which took place in the 1930s. Garnier 15/6 is itself a cross between the varieties Villard Noir x Müller-Thurgau and the variety Seyve-Villard 20-347, also known as Perle Noire, was created by crossing the varieties Tenerife x Seyve Villard 12-358. Due to its interspecific parents, Muscat Bleu belongs to the hybrid grape family .

Ampelographic features

properties

It is primarily a table grape variety that is also used to make wine. It is resistant to winter frost and both types of mildew, but tends to be small berries and trickles.
