Museum vehicles of the Dresden Tram Museum
The museum vehicles of the tramway museum Dresden are usually roadworthy held historic tram instinctual and -beiwagen that the aim of the Tram Museum Dresden e. V. correspond to "to preserve the historical trams and the tram systems in Dresden and the surrounding area as technical contemporary witnesses" .
The oldest vehicle is a Berolina multiple unit built in 1902 in the workshop of the Trachenberge depot with vehicle number 309, which was used on the opening run on the Plauen basic railway . Shortly before it was retired from regular service in 1965, the railcar was placed under monument protection and thus saved from being scrapped. For a short scene from the Johannes R. Becher filming Farewell , set in Munich , the railcar was reworked and redesigned for DEFA from autumn 1967 based on a color photo from 1910. The work was carried out in such a way that specifically Munich elements could be easily removed again after the filming (1968) and the historical condition could be restored by re-molding (1969). In 1992 the car from the Dresden Transport Company (DVB) was part of the collection of the newly founded museum association. From this it is also coupled with the visually matching sidecar 87, which was also built in 1911 in the Trachenberge depot.
The vehicle numbers given here follow the information given by the Tram Museum, as a rule earlier numbers have not been reproduced.
