Church building

Church exterior

The facade of the church is simply structured. A small porch with a pointed gable adjoins the west facade . On the south side there is a staircase to the gallery. There is a surrounding cornice on the nave . The nave walls are pierced by pointed arch windows from the 19th century. Gothic rectangular windows were exposed on the south facade. The Gothic choir is slightly offset and structured by strong buttresses . The pointed arch windows in the choir are Gothic. The window on the east side is walled up. A church tower, which is Romanesque in the core, adjoins the choir in the north . The ashlar masonry was partially exposed. On the ground floor of the tower is a small Gothic pointed arch window that belongs to the former sacristy . Above it is the bell floor with baroque sound windows and a large onion helmet . The baroque sacristy adjoins the choir to the south.

Church interior

The nave has four bays. Above it is a baroque cross vault with keystones that rests on strong pillars. The simple organ loft is arched with a Prussian cap vault. The triumphal arch is made narrow. The Gothic choir is vaulted with ribs and ends in a 5/8 end. The baptistery is located in the north-facing tower ground floor, the former sacristy. This is a small square room with a barrel vault . It contains the font from 1616 and the holy water font from 1695.

The stained glass windows were created in 1896 and 1930. The windows from 1930 are from Geyling .

Furnishing

The neo-Gothic furnishings come from the second half of the 19th century. The richly decorated high altar dates from 1867. The altar panel from 1841 shows St. Leopold and was painted by Erasmus Engert . The picture is flanked by figures of Saints Sebastian and Rochus . A statue of Mary with a child and two angels are shown in the blown up article above. A figure of Mary stands on the small side altar. The Stations of the Cross were created at the end of the 19th century.
