Tokaç attended the renowned Galatasaray High School and played here in the youth department of the traditional Galatasaray Istanbul club - the club that was founded by students from the Galatasaray High School. Word of his footballing talent spread quickly in the Galatasaray community, so that in 1942, at the age of seventeen, he was accepted into the squad of the Galatasaray football team. At the time of his entry into the professional squad, there was no international professional league in Turkey. Instead, regional leagues existed in metropolitan areas such as Istanbul, Ankara and Izmir , of which the İstanbul Futbol Ligi (German: Istanbul Football League ) was considered the most renowned. In addition, from 1936 an attempt was made to establish a kind of national championship with the Türkiye Maarif Mükafatı , a national football league of Turkey designed as a tournament and held at irregular intervals. Tokaç made his debut for Galatasaray during the game in the Istanbul Football League on September 13, 1942 against Davutpaşa SK . In this game Tokaç played the full length of the game. In the further course of the season he played in twelve other games. After the end of the season, Galatasaray took part in Türkiye Maarif Mükafatı, while Tokaç played two of the possible 14 matches during this tournament. His team finished the tournament in 2nd place. In addition, Tokaç's team also took part in the Istanbul Cup and was able to win this cup. This brought Tokaç his first trophy at club level.

In the 1943/44 season he was one of the most successful goal scorers of his team with six goals in seven league games. With his team he finished the league in 3rd place in the table and did not take part in the post-season Türkiye Maarif Mükafatı this time. The title was defended in the Istanbul Cup. The following season was also successful for Tokaç. He conquered a regular place and completed almost all encounters. With his team, Tokaç always occupied places in the upper table segment and established itself as a top performer. Through his achievements, he rose to the national team in 1948. In the 1948/49 season Tokaç reached the championship of the Istanbul Football League with his team and was part of the team that was able to win the Istanbul championship for Galatasaray after 18 years. The next two seasons he went empty-handed with his team in the championship.

In spring 1952 the İstanbul Futbol Ligi was transferred to the İstanbul Profesyonel Ligi (German: Istanbul Professional League ) and all well-known clubs took part in this league from then on. In the first season of this league Tokaç 'team reached the runner-up behind arch-rivals Beşiktaş Istanbul the runner-up. Tokaç appeared in 14 games and scored two goals. In the 1955/56 season of this league, Galatasaray managed to win the championship. In this championship season Tokaç lost his regular place and completed eight league games.

In the summer of 1956 he ended his career with a farewell game in which Galatasaray met Beykozspor . After retiring from his career, he moved to New York City and played for Brookhattan , among others .
