My Glorious is an indie rock trio from Vienna .

Band history

The band consists of the British Sami Goodenough (vocals / guitar) and the two twins Gregor Sailer on bass and Paul Sailer on drums from Austria . It was created in January 2008 from the fragments of the rock band Fresh. In 2009 the first album Home Is Where the Heart Breaks was released on the Berlin independent label G-Records. The album is a concept album and won the Music Resource Group 's US Independent Music Award in this category .

The 2011 album Inside my Head Is a Scary Place was recorded with well-known producer Sylvia Massy ( Prince , Red Hot Chili Peppers , REM ) at Radiostar Studios in California . The first single was Flower , and a music video was shot for this song. At the end of 2011 there was a tour through Germany as a support act for Jupiter Jones . My Glorious received the Newcomer of the Year award on iTunes Germany .

In 2013 the band gave a preview of individual songs from the upcoming third studio album with the limited acoustic EP Sparks . This was published in August 2014 under the title Hold What We Can Hold . It features guest appearances by Gwenael Damman (ex- Christina Stürmer ) and Roland Maurer ( Giantree ), the album was produced by James Kenosha.

Music genre

The band plays melodic indie rock that is compared to the music of bands like Coldplay , Foo Fighters , The Killers and Mando Diao . The texts are of a personal nature and refer to the "attempt to understand life". The musical style is described as relatively raw and unpolished and lives heavily on contrasts.
