Mychajlo Witalijowytsch Sabrodskyj ( Ukrainian Михайло Віталійович Забродський ; born January 24, 1973 in Dnipropetrovsk , Ukrainian SSR ) is a Ukrainian lieutenant general .

Life

Mychajlo Sabrodskyj, who came from a soldier's family, studied at the Military Academy Военно-космическая академия имени А. Ф. Можайского (Military Space Academy named after AF Moshaiski ) in Saint Petersburg and then engaged in the Russian military for 5 years . After his service he returned to Ukraine and was initially a platoon leader in the 95th separate airborne brigade of the highly mobile airborne troops of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the city of Zhytomyr and then studied at the Command and General Staff College of the US Army at Fort Leavenworth , Kansas . From November 2009 to August 2010 he was in the rank of lieutenant colonel chief of staff and first deputy commander of the 95th separate airborne brigade of the highly mobile airborne troops and was commander of this unit in January 2013 with the rank of colonel .

With his brigade he took part in the Ukraine war in eastern Ukraine since spring 2014 and has received several awards for this mission. In March 2015, Sabrodskyj became the commander of the highly mobile airborne troops of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and in June 2015 he commanded the Ukrainian troops in the liberation of the city of Marjinka . He was promoted to major general on August 1, 2015, and was promoted to lieutenant general by presidential decree on December 5, 2016.
