Mykhaylo Iwanowytsch Werykiwskyj ( Ukrainian Михайло Іванович Вериківський , Polish Michał Werykowski , also Russian Михаил Иванович Вериковский * 9. November 1896 in Kremenets , volhynian governorate ; † 14. June 1962 in Kiev ) was a Ukrainian composer .

Werykiwskyi studied at the conservatory and then worked as a conductor at the city's opera , later in Kharkov . From 1935 he taught at the Kiev Conservatory . He composed three operas and a ballet, two orchestral suites, symphonic variations and two symphonic pictures, cantatas, songs, drama and film scores. He died in Kiev and was buried there in the Baikowe cemetery .
