Myslivny (German Jägerdörfel ) is a basic settlement unit of the municipality of Mařenice in the Czech Republic . It belongs to the district Horní Světlá and is located 653.3 m above sea level. M. in the Lusatian Mountains , just under one kilometer south of the Lausche and the border with Germany . A hiking trail for pedestrians leads to the neighboring German town of Waltersdorf , 3 kilometers to the north, via Wache / Stráž .

history

The small settlement consisting of half-timbered houses was created as a settlement of forest workers around a forester's house. It was part of the formerly independent village of Oberlichtenwalde ( Horní Světlá ). At the beginning of the 20th century its character changed to a popular summer resort with several inns. In 1924 the “Lausitzer Baude” was founded by the Friends of Nature and closed in 1938 after the association was brought into line and dissolved. The place between Lausche and Stückberg was the starting point or destination for hikers to the Lausche or other parts of the mountains. "Hang 13", a downhill ski run, was built on the southeast slope of the Lausche.

After the Second World War, many of the German residents were driven out of Czechoslovakia by the "guard" and the border was closed. Myslivny became a remote settlement that was barely inhabited. The "Hang 13" overgrown with bushes and the "Hang 13-Baude" was demolished. This calm was interrupted in 1968 when tanks of the Soviet Army invaded Czechoslovakia as occupiers. After 1980, the Lužická chata was converted into a recreational facility for uranium miners in the vicinity of Stráž pod Ralskem and other Czech uranium mining areas.

The border crossing was officially opened again around 1992, after at the latest since 1989 German day trippers from Waltersdorf have increasingly visited Myslivny. After the border was opened, a memorial stone was erected on the German side for the expulsion.

A memorial stone was also erected on the Czech side in October 2003. This commemorates the fallen members of the Czechoslovak border guards who were killed in the bloody skirmishes with the Sudeten German Freikorps operating from Germany in September 1938.

Today there are almost exclusively inns and guest rooms in the village. The Lusatian hut is once again a public hut under the name Chata Luž . There is also another Lusatian hut, the Pension Lužická bouda .

Two ski lifts are in operation on the Lausche in the winter months.
