Näsinneula [ næsinˌneu̯lɑ ] is the most May 1, 1971, completed 168-meter high TV tower in Finnish Tampere . It belongs to the Särkänniemi amusement park and is the tallest observation tower in Northern Europe . The Näsinneula has a revolving restaurant at a height of 124 meters . An open viewing platform is located at a height of 111 meters, the closed platform at a height of 120 meters. In contrast to Särkänniemi Park, the tower is open all year round.
In the years 1996 to 1997, the elevators that the Schweizerische Wagons- und Aufzügefabrik AG Schlieren-Zurich delivered in 1971 were replaced by faster ones from Otis . They reach a speed of six meters per second and thus need 27 seconds to get from the ground to the viewing platform.
