Nørvøy is an island in Ålesund municipality in the Norwegian province of Møre og Romsdal .
It is about five km² and has 9,647 inhabitants (as of 2015). Immediately to the west, only separated by the narrow Ålesundet across which the Hellebroa bridge leads, is the island of Aspøy . North to the extend Valderhaugfjord and Ellingsøyfjord the east Svinøysund . To the southeast, separated only by the narrow Toskesund and Nørvasund, lies the Norwegian mainland, to which there are bridges. In the south lies the Borgundfjord . For northern island Ellingsøy the tunnel leads Ellingsøy Tunnel .
The forested mountain Aksla , up to 189 meters high, stretches across the island from west to east , on which the viewpoints Fjellstua and Kniven are located.
At the western tip of the approximately 5.8 kilometers long and up to 1.6 kilometers wide island is the eastern part of Ålesund city center with the city's harbors, Ålesund City Park and various cultural monuments such as the House of the Workers' Association , the Kaihuset and Løvenvold -Kino , Ålesund bedehus and the houses Kongens gate 10B and Kongens gate 12 . There is also denser development on its south and east banks.
