NB I. Szabó László csoport 2013/14

The NB I. Szabó László csoport 2013/14 was the top division of the Hungarian team championship in chess. Champion again became the defending champion Aquaprofit NTSK , from NB I / B. were last year Budapesti Titánok Sportegyesület and Zalaegerszegi Csuti Antal - HYDROCOMP sports club ascended. While Titánok achieved relegation, Zalaegerszeg had to relegate together with Községi Sportegyesület Decs . For the reported team squad of the participating clubs see team squad of NL I. Game dates

The competitions took place on September 8 and 22, October 20, November 3, 2013, February 16, March 2 and 23, and April 13 and 27, 2014. They will be played locally at the clubs involved. Two second round competitions were rescheduled on September 29, 2013, a third round competition on November 17, 2013, while a sixth round competition was played on February 15, 2014.

Season course

Aquaprofit NTSK was in a class of its own. All competitions were won and the title defense was perfect even before the last round. The relegation of Kőszeg was also certain before the last lap, and Zalaegerszeg, 6 points behind the saving eighth place, had little chance of staying up. Although Zalaegerszeg landed a runaway victory against Kőszeg in the end, he was only able to reduce the gap to 8th place to one point.
