András Flumbort (born August 17, 1984 in Nagykanizsa ) is a Hungarian chess master , lawyer, chess manager and chess official.

Flumbort holds a doctorate in law, he was the team leader of the Hungarian first division club Aquaprofit NTSK from his birthplace Nagykanizsa for many years and became Hungarian team champion in 2007 , 2009 , 2010 , 2011 , 2012 , 2013 , 2014 , 2015 , 2016 and 2017 . Flumbort has been playing for Dunaharaszti Munkás Testedző Kör since 2017 . In April 2009 he ran for the post of chairman of the Hungarian Chess Federation, but lost the election against Péter Kunos. As team captain, Flumbort was in charge of the Hungarian women's team at the 2009 European Championships in Novi Sad . Under his leadership, Richárd Rapport earned his three grandmaster norms.

He won or occupied top places in several tournaments: 1st place in Harkány (2000), 1st place in the Hungarian U20 championship (2004), 2nd place in the FS07-GM tournament Budapest (2009), 1st place in the Challenger in Haarlem (2009), 1st place at the János Ács Memorial in Tapolca (2010) and 1st place at the B1 IM tournament in Marienbad (2010).

In the German Federal Chess League, Flumbort played for SG Trier from 2007 to 2010 , and in the Austrian Bundesliga he played for ASK St. Valentin in the 2016/17 season . Flumbort was named International Master in 2002 and Grand Master in 2010. He achieved the required standards in the Hungarian team championship 2005/06 , in March 2006 at the PannonPower Kupa tournament in Sikonda and in the 2009/10 German chess league .
