Tamás Bánusz (born April 8, 1989 in Mohács ) is a Hungarian chess master .

Bánusz played in the NB I. Szabó László , the highest Hungarian team league, from 2002 to 2008 for Aquaprofit NTSK (until 2006 Nagykanizsa TSK ), with which he became the Hungarian team champion in 2007 . In the 2011/12 season he played for Szombathelyi MÁV Haladás VSE , since 2012 he has played again for Aquaprofit NTSK and was Hungarian team champion in 2013 , 2014 , 2015 , 2016 , 2017 , 2018 and 2019 . In the German federal chess league, Bánusz has been registered with SV 1930 Hockenheim since the 2011/12 season , and has played in the Slovakian extra league for ŠK Slovan Commander Bratislava since the 2015/16 season . He has been playing in the Austrian Bundesliga for SK Ottakring since the 2015/16 season , in the Spanish División de Honor since 2016 for Club Ajedrez Jaime Casas , in the Danish Skakligaen since 2018 for the Xtracon Køge team , with whom he is the 2019 champion has been.

Bánusz won or occupied top places in some tournaments: 2nd place at the First Saturday FM tournament in Budapest (June 2001), 3rd place at the Schneider Memorial in Budapest (2003), 2nd place at the IM tournament in Balatonlelle (2004) and 1st place at the Hungarian U-18 Championship (2005). With the Hungarian national team he took part in the 2013 European Team Championship in Warsaw .

Bánusz has held the title of International Master since 2005 and the title of Grand Master since 2011 . The fulfillment of the GM norms: 4th place with 7 points from 9 games at the XXIV Open Internacional Vila de Sitges (2008), 3rd place with 6.5 points from 9 games at the Balaton International Chess Festival Open in Balatonlelle (2009) and 2nd place 1st place with 7 points from 9 games at the First Saturday GM tournament in Budapest (October 2010).
