Dávid Bérczes (born January 14, 1990 in Borås , Sweden ) is a Hungarian chess master .

Life

Bérczes became International Master in 2005 and Grand Master in 2008 . His family moved back to Hungary from Sweden when Bérczes was two and a half years old. His mother taught him to play chess when he was six. His older brother Csaba is also a chess player and holds the title of International Master, both sisters are active in volleyball , one plays in a professional team. Since 2003 he has been trained by Grand Master Péter Lukács .

At the Rilton Cup 2007/2008, Bérczes shared the first prize in the Elo performance 2638, and in the summer of 2008 he won the last 20 points over the 2500 ELO limit and the fourth GM standard at the tournament in Biel .

In the highest Hungarian league, the NB I. Szabó László csoport , Bérczes was first used in the 2001/02 season at PMSE Antenna Hung , for which he also played in the following season. In the 2005/06 season he played for Láng Vasas Sportkör , from 2006 to 2013 Bérczes played for Aquaprofit-NTSK , with whom he was Hungarian team champion in 2007 , 2009 , 2010 , 2011 , 2012 and 2013 . With Aquaprofit-NTSK he also took part in the European Club Cup 2007 and achieved the best individual result on the sixth board. Since 2017 he has played for DVTK Sport Korlátolt Felelősségű Társaság . In the German Federal Chess League, Bérczes played in the 2007/08 season for SK Zehlendorf and in the 2010/11 season for SV Griesheim , in the Austrian Federal Chess League from 2010 to 2012 for ASVÖ Wulkaprodersdorf . In the Swedish Elitserien , Bérczes played from 2010 to 2013 for the Viking team , with whom he was Swedish team champion in 2012 , in the British Four Nations Chess League from 2008 to 2011 for Wood Green , which won the competition in 2009 and 2010 .
