Emil Anka

Emil Anka (* 20th January 1969 in Békéscsaba ) is a Hungarian Chess - Grandmaster and international referee.

Anka won or occupied top places in several tournaments: 1st place in Budapest (1996), 1st place at the Elekes memorial in Budapest (2001), 1st place at the Schneider Memorial in Budapest (2003). In 1990 Anka was named International Master and in 2001 Grand Master.

Anka's Elo rating is 2382 (as of December 2015), but he has not played an elo-rated game since the Hungarian team championship 2009/10 and is therefore listed as inactive at FIDE . His highest rating of 2487 he reached in July 1999. He is a member of the Mátyásföldi Lawn Tenis Club (until 2008 Statisztika PSC ), for which he played for years in the Hungarian team championship. In 2013 and 2014 he played in the United States Chess League for the Seattle Sluggers .

Emil Anka has lived in Bellevue (Washington) since 2010 , where he works as a chess trainer.
