Tibor Fogarasi (* 21st November 1969 in Szolnok ) is a Hungarian Chess - Grandmaster .

Fogarasi received the grandmaster title in 2003 , he fulfilled the required standards in December 1995 at the HUNGAROIL 1995 tournament in Budapest , in the 2001/02 Hungarian team championship and in May 2003 at the 28th Elekes Memorial in Budapest. For the Hungarian national team he took part in the Mitropa Cup twice (1991 and 1995). Fogarasi won or occupied top places in several tournaments: I-II. Place FS08 GM Budapest (1994), II-III. Place FS10 GM Budapest (1994), I. place Hungaroil tournament Siófok (1994), I-II. Place FS02 GM Budapest (2000), 2nd place Elekes Memorial Budapest (2003), 2nd place FS16 GM Budapest (2004), I-II. Place FS02 GM Budapest (2005), I-III. Place Elekes Memorial Budapest (2005), 2nd place GM-B tournament Balatonlelle (2005). His Elo number is 2377 (as of January 2015), in July 1995 he reached his highest Elo number of 2515.

Fogarasi played in Hungary until 2015 for the Mátyásföldi Lawn Tenis Club (until 2008 Statisztika PSC ), since then for Pénzügyőr Sport Egyesület . He played in the Austrian Bundesliga and State League from 1992 to 1994 and from 2003 to 2006 for SK Sparkasse Fürstenfeld . At the European Club Cup Fogarasi took 1990 Honvéd Budapest and in 1998 with the SK Sparkasse Furstenfeld part.
