Attila Grószpéter

Attila Grószpéter (born June 9, 1960 ) is a Hungarian chess player .

Grószpéter received the grandmaster title in 1986 . For the Hungarian national team he took part in three chess Olympiads , 1982 , 1984 and 1990 , and twice each in the team world championships (1985 and 1989) and team European championships (1983 and 1989). Grószpéter finished second in the Hungarian chess championship in 1993 and 1995.

Grószpéter won or occupied top places in several tournaments: 1st place in Plovdiv (1982), I-II. 1st place in Kecskemét (1992), I-III. Place in Zalakaros (1996), I. Place in Gyula (1998), I-II. Place in Hampstead (1998), I. Place in Paks (2001), I-III. Place in Zalakaros (2002), I-IV. Place in Szombathely (2004), again 1st place in Paks 2007 and I-II. Place in Zalakaros (2008).

His Elo rating is 2453 (as of January 2015), which puts him in 41st place in Hungary's Elo ranking. In January 1996 it reached its highest rating of 2565.

In Hungary, Grószpéter played with Csuti Antal SK Zalaegerszeg until 2007 , with whom he became champions in 2002 , 2003 , 2004 , 2005 and 2006 , and since 2007 he has played with ASE Paks . With Zalaegerszeg he also took part in the European Club Cup six times , in 2003 he achieved the third best and 2004 the best individual result on the sixth board. In the Austrian Bundesliga Grószpéter played from 1997 to 1999 and again in the 2000/01 and 2004/05 seasons for RbEJ Gleisdorf , in the 2008/09 season for the master Husek Vienna .
