Gyula Pap (born April 20, 1991 in Szekszárd ) is a Hungarian chess master .

Pap won or occupied top places in several tournaments: 2nd place at the First Saturday FM tournament in Budapest (March 2002), 2nd place at the cup tournament in Paks (2003), 2nd place at the Hungarian U20 championship (2008), 2nd place 1st place at the First Saturday GM tournament in Budapest (February 2010) and 2nd place at the First Saturday GM tournament in Budapest (July 2010).

Pap has held the title of International Master since 2007 . He fulfilled the required standards at two First Saturday tournaments in December 2004 and April 2006 in Budapest and in the 2006/07 season of the NB I / B. Charousek csoport, the second highest division of the Hungarian team championship. In 2011 he received the title of Grand Master . He met the standards in March 2009 at the First Saturday GM in Budapest, at the Savaria Summer GM 2010 in Szombathely and at the 10th Rohde Open 2010 in Sautron . His Elo rating is 2544 (as of October 2014), which puts him in 16th place in Hungary's Elo ranking. In August 2012, it reached its highest rating of 2578.

Pap plays for the team of Községi Sportegyesület Decs, with whom he was represented in the top Hungarian league, the NB I. Szabó László csoport, from 2007 to 2014.
