Tícia Gara (born October 25, 1984 in Budapest ) is a Hungarian chess master .

Single successes

Tícia Gara was awarded the title of International Women's Champion (WIM) in 2000, and in 2002 she was awarded the title of Women's Chess Grandmaster (WGM).

Tícia Gara won the Hungarian Women's Championship in 2006, 2007 and 2019.

Tícia Gara achieved her best Elo rating of 2385 from July to September 2012, placing her 77th in the FIDE world rankings for women and third in the Hungarian women's rankings.

Team chess

National team

Tícia Gara took part with the Hungarian women's selection in the 2010 , 2012 , 2014 , 2016 and 2018 Chess Olympiads and achieved a total of 26.5 points from 43 games. In 2001, 2007, 2009, 2011 , 2013, 2015, 2017 and 2019 she took part in the European women's team championships and achieved a total of 27 points from 49 games. Gara also took part in the 2019 Women's World Team Championship. In 2015 and 2017 she won the women's Mitropacup with Hungary , and in 2015 she achieved the best individual result on the second board with 6 points from 6 games.

Club chess

Tícia Gara has been playing in the NB I. Szabó László csoport , the highest Hungarian division, since the 2008/09 season with the Aquaprofit-NTSK club based in Nagykanizsa and won with this club in 2009 , 2010 , 2011 , 2012 , 2013 , 2014 , 2015 , In 2016 , 2017 , 2018 and 2019 the Hungarian team championship. Before that she played for Magyar Testgyakorlók Köre Erzsébetváros (Postás MATÁV Sport Egyesület until 2007), with whom she also took part in the European Women's Club Cup in 2005 . In the German women's Bundesliga, Tícia Gara played in the 2000/01 season with Spielvereinigung Leipzig 1899 , in the 2002/03 season at USV Halle and in the 2011/12 and 2012/13 seasons for SF 1891 Friedberg . Furthermore, Tícia Gara has already played for SG 1871 Löberitz and SV Großhansdorf , in the 2014/15 season she played for SF Lilienthal from 1971 in the Lower Saxony Association League North. In France, Tícia Gara played at Club d'Echecs d'Annemasse in the second division, Nationale I, and in the top division of women, the Top 12 . She won the French women's team championship in 2014 . She played for Hebei in the Chinese team championship in 2018 .

Others

Her sister Anita is also one of the top Hungarian women in women's chess. She also has the WGM title and the title of International Master .
