action

Mark Preston and his mother are waiting for his father Steve on a stormy night. When he arrives from the rain, he has empty eye sockets and his face seems to melt. He stammered something about a book, about Corbis and Red Stone , after which his entire body melted like wax before the eyes of Mark and his mother. The two of them cannot believe what they saw and now doubt whether it was really the father. When the father's car stops in front of the door shortly afterwards, Mark runs out and sees a voodoo doll on the steering wheel that resembles his mother. His mother has since been kidnapped in the house. Mark believes Jonathan Corbis is behind it and decides to visit him in Red Stone , an abandoned ghost town. Corbis is the mysterious leader of a Satan sect who urges the Prestons to give him a book that has been in the family for around 300 years. In the book there are all the names of the followers of the sect who have signed it with their blood that they have bequeathed their souls to the devil. Mark drives to the abandoned ghost town and actually meets Corbis there. He is later captured by Corbis and his followers.

Tom Preston and Julie Preston are now looking for the missing parents. When they arrive in the ghost town, a stranger drives towards them in their father's car and then escapes into a house. They follow him and when Tom holds him, Julie looks back to 1680 in his hollow eyes: Aaronessa, the wife of Martin Fyffe (an ancestor of Mark Preston) stole the book and betrayed the devotees of Satan. Jonathan Corbis is immediately led to the stake, where he curses Martin Fyffe and his descendants for their betrayal. Contrary to the assurance that nothing would happen to them, Fyffe and his wife also end up at the stake.

Meanwhile, Mark finds himself engaged in a satanic ritual in which Corbis becomes a demon with ram horns. After the ceremony, Mark only has empty eye sockets and has become one of them.

Julie drives back and is kidnapped by the sect, while Tom and Dr. Sam Richards explored the ghost town. In a church they find a vessel in which souls are apparently trapped and which contains the "water of Satan" (in the original: devil's rain ). After Mark destroys the vessel, the water of Satan turns into diabolical rain that melts all followers like wax. Tom takes the rescued Julie in his arms, shortly afterwards she transforms into Corbis.
