Nadezhda Chastina made her international debut in 2000 as part of the Junior Summer Biathlon World Championships in Khanty-Mansiysk , where she was third in the sprint, second behind the winner Tatiana Moiseyeva in the pursuit and with Moiseyeva and Irina Fomina winner in the relay competition. In the same place she took part in the Junior World Championships in the winter of 2001, where she finished 15th in the singles and won relay gold with Moissejewa and Julija Makarowa . At the Junior World Championships in 2001 in Ridnaun she was able to win the individual title, was 15th in the sprint, 13th in the pursuit race and with Tatjana Brioukhanowa and Jelena Dawgul third in the relay race. A little later, Chastina also took part in the European Junior Championships in Kontiolahti , where she was fifth in the sprint, seventh in the pursuit and, with Dawgul and Ulyana Denisova, Vice European Junior Champion. In 2003 the Russian started at her last Junior World Championships and European Championships. The World Championships in Kościelisko brought a silver medal in the individual behind Ute Niziak and gold with Jana Romanowa and Denissowa in the relay competition. The results at the EM in Forni Avoltri were less good with sixth place in the sprint as the best result.
Since the beginning of the 2003/04 season , Tschastina has been competing in the women’s biathlon European Cup . In her first races in Ridnaun , the Russian was tenth in the sprint and 15th in the pursuit race, winning her first points in the racing series. Between 2004 and 2006, the Russian did not take part in any international competitions. Chastina celebrated her comeback at the Biathlon European Championships 2007 in Bansko . In the individual she reached the 29th, in the sprint 18th, in the pursuit 12th and with the relay the fifth place. At the Summer Biathlon World Championships in 2007 in Otepää , positions 19 in the sprint and 18 in the pursuit in the roller ski competitions were added. At the EM 2008 in Nové Město na Moravě she only ran the singles and was 21 there . The 2008 Summer Biathlon World Championships in Haute-Maurienne were successful . In the sprint she finished eighth, in the pursuit she just missed medals in fourth place as well as in the same rank in the pursuit.
