Nadine Kostner (born October 13, 1992 in Brixen ) is a former Italian ski jumper .

Career

Kostner, who started for the Val Gardena Association , started ski jumping in the winter of 2003 after her neighbor Elena Runggaldier had taken her to the ski jump. The student at the sports high school of the business school in Ortisei in Val Gardena made her debut in the Ski Jumping Continental Cup three years later on August 9, 2006 in Pöhla . In doing so, however, she clearly missed a placement within the points.

In January 2007 she started in Dobbiaco and this time jumped 37th and 38th just past the points. Also in the following competitions she was unsuccessful. It wasn't until two years later in January 2009 when she was jumping in Toblach that she was placed 26th in the points for the first time. She repeated this success only four days later in Ljubno . So she reached a total of 11 points and thus rank 70 in the overall ranking of the 2008/09 season .

Despite these first successes, Kostner did not succeed in establishing himself permanently among the world's best. So she missed further points in the summer of 2009 and also at the beginning of the ski jumping Continental Cup 2009/10 . In a fall in February 2010, Kostner was so badly injured that she had to take a break from summer 2010. It wasn't until the Nordic Junior World Ski Championships 2011 in Otepää that she started again internationally, but only came in 46th place. By the end of the season she was able to improve her performance again, but remained unsuccessful. After Kostner remained without points in summer 2011, she withdrew from the Continental Cup squad before the start of the 2011/12 season. For the ski jumping World Cup , however, she was part of the group of Italians for the 2011/12 season .
