Nadir Belhadj ( Arabic نذير بلحاج, DMG Naḏīr Bilḥāǧ ; * June 18, 1982 in Saint-Claude ) is an Algerian - French soccer player who has been playing for Al-Sailiya in Qatar since 2017 . He plays in the position of full-back .
Career

Belhadj began his professional career at RC Lens , where he was only used in the reserve team. Until his departure in 2003, he did not play a single game for the senior team. In 2002 he was awarded to the second division club FC Gueugnon , where he became a regular player. After the loan deal ended in summer 2003, Gueugnon bought the player. However, he only played one season with the Yellows before being bought by CS Sedan in 2004. With the Sangliers , he made it to Ligue 1 in 2006 . There he made himself felt with good performances and was signed by the then champion Olympique Lyon in January 2007 . But instead of using it directly in your own team, it was loaned back to Sedan for the next six months. With his 100th game on May 26, 2007 (0-1 against Olympique Marseille ) he said goodbye to Sedan and moved to the old and new champions in Lyon.
After only six months he left Lyon again and joined RC Lens and ended up with the club at the end of the season on a relegation zone. In September 2008 he was loaned to Portsmouth for five months and convinced there, so that he was firmly committed to 4.5 million euros. With Portsmouth he played in the 2008/09 UEFA Cup , but was eliminated in the group stage. At the international level, Nadir Belhadj, who played for France in the juniors, played his first A international match for Algeria on April 28, 2004 against China. At the 2010 African Cup of Nations, he was expelled and suspended for assaulting an Egyptian player. In the summer of the same year he was in Algeria's squad for the World Cup in South Africa. In the preliminary round he played the games against England and Slovenia.
