Nafpaktos ( Greek Ναύπακτος ) has been one of six parishes of the western Greek municipality of Nafpaktia since 2011 . It emerged from the municipality of the same name and is named after the city of the same name .

location

The municipality of Nafpaktos is located in the south of the municipality of Nafpaktia on the Gulf of Corinth . Andirrio and Chalkia are to the southwest . In the northwest, the Evinos forms the natural border with the municipalities of Agrinio and Thermo . In the north is Pyllini , beyond the Mornos in the east is the region of Central Greece with the municipality of Dorida .

Administrative division

In the course of the 1997 territorial reform , 13 rural communities were incorporated into the Nafpaktos community, which had existed since 1946. As a result of the administrative reform in 2010 , the municipality of Nafpaktos was merged with five other municipalities to form the municipality of Nafpaktia and has since formed a municipality there. This is subdivided into the municipality of Nafpaktos and 13 local communities and corresponds to the spatial situation before the territorial reform of 1997.
