Pyllini ( Greek Πυλλήνη , also Pylini Πυλήνη ( f. Sg. )) Is a municipality in the municipality of Nafpaktia in the regional district of Aetolia-Akarnania , western Greece . In the course of the Kapodistrias program of 1997, it was initially formed as an independent municipality through the amalgamation of eleven small rural communities and, with the implementation of the Kallikratis program, became part of the newly founded municipality of Nafpaktia on January 1, 2011 . The administrative seat of the municipality was the small town of Simos .

The municipality of Pyllini extends over 123.966 km² north of Nafpaktos . The Evinos forms the natural border to the western municipality of Thermo . Other neighboring parishes are Platanos in the north and Apodotia in the east as well as the parish Efpali of the parish Dorida beyond the Mornos in the southeast.

The community was named after a pylēnē mentioned in the ship catalog of the Iliad .
