Nahid Bagheri goldsmith

Nahid Bagheri goldsmith , ( Persian ناهید باقری - گلداشمید; * June 22, 1957 in Tehran ) is an Austrian- Iranian poet , prose writer and translator living in Vienna .

Life

Nahid Bagheri comes from a wealthy entrepreneurial family in Tehran. She published her first poems in the mid-1970s, including in newspapers such as Keyhan , worked as a journalist until 1980 (including for Aftab-e Iran ) and studied Persian and Arabic linguistics and literature. After her fiancé was murdered, she left Iran and went into exile in Vienna. In 1983 she married the Austrian physicist Gerhard Goldschmied. She has published novels and volumes of poetry, works as a language teacher and translator. She publishes u. a. in the journals Zwischenwelt , Das Jüdische Echo . She is chairwoman of the Iranian Art and Culture Association in Exile Marzpeyma (Border Crosser ), which was founded in Vienna in 2007 , and is a member and individual delegate of the IG Authors Authors , the Austrian PEN Club and the Austrian Writers' Association . In 2008 she took part in Ülkü Akbaba's documentary Border Crossers .
