Najma Parveen (born December 20, 1990 in Faisalabad ) is a Pakistani sprinter and hurdler .

Athletic career

Najma Parveen gained her first international experience in 2013 at the Asian Championships in Pune , where she was eliminated in the first round in the 100-meter run with 12.50 s, as well as over 200 meters with 25.74 s. In 2016 she took part in the 400-meter hurdles for the first time in the South Asian Games in Guwahati , where she finished fifth in 1: 06.13 minutes. In the 200-meter race she was allowed thanks to a wildcard to the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro to participate, left there but with 26.11 s already in advance of. The following year she reached eighth place in the hurdles at the Islamic Solidarity Games in Baku and was eliminated in the semifinals over 200 meters with 25.67 seconds. In 2019 she won the South Asian Games in Kathmandu in 60.35 s in the hurdles and won the silver medal over 200 meters in 23.69 s behind the Indian Archana Suseentran . In addition, she secured the silver medal behind the team from Sri Lanka in the 4 x 400 meter relay in 3: 41.74 minutes and won the bronze medal in the 4 x 100 meter relay behind Sri Lanka and India .

In 2013 and 2015 Parveen became the Pakistani champion in the 100-meter run and in 2015 in the 200-meter and 400-meter hurdles. In 2018 she won the hurdles and the 4 x 400 meter relay.
