Namık Güner Erpul

Namık Güner Erpul (born November 28, 1957 in Silifke ) is a Turkish diplomat .

Life

In 1983, he graduated in International Relations at the University of Ankara , and entered the Foreign Service on November 30, 1984; from January 13, 1984 to July 30, 1985 he was employed by the Turkish armed forces . From September 2, 1985 to March 16, 1988, he was Third Class Secretary to the Mission to the Council of Europe . From March 16, 1988 to August 29, 1990, he was the third-class legation secretary in Stockholm . From August 29, 1990 to September 1, 1993, he was second class legation secretary in Damascus . From September 1, 1993 to October 5, 1993, he was second class legation secretary in the Europe department. From October 5, 1993 to August 29, 1995 he was Head of the Europe Department. From August 29, 1995 to December 1, 1999, he was First Class Secretary to the Mission to the OSCE in Vienna. From December 1, 1999 to July 17, 2000 he was employed in the arms control department. From July 17, 2000 to August 27, 2001 he headed the arms control department. From August 27, 2001 to October 1, 2004, he was Minister Counselor at UN headquarters . From August 27, 2001 to September 1, 2006, he was envoy in Rome. From September 1, 2006 to February 8, 2007 he was head of the Energy Water Environment department. From February 8, 2007 to April 28, 2008, he was Head of the Middle East Department. From April 28, 2008 to February 15, 2010 he was Head of the Culture Department. From February 15, 2010 to February 14, 2014 he was ambassador in Lima and on March 1, 2011 he was simultaneously accredited in La Paz Bolivia . He has been ambassador to Tashkent since February 14, 2014 .
