Nancy Jeffett

Nancy Pearce Jeffett (born July 16, 1928 in St. Louis , Missouri , † July 6, 2017 in Dallas , Texas ) was an American tennis player and one of the most influential personalities in tennis.

Player career

Nancy Jeffett was listed as number 10 on the USTA Junior Rankings in 1946 . In 1948 she won both singles, doubles and mixed competitions at the USTA / Missouri .

Founder and initiator of associations and tennis tournaments

  • In 1954 she founded the Texas Tennis Association .
  • 1960–1982 Chair of the "Texas Tennis Junior Development Program"
  • In 1968 she co-founded the “ Maureen Connolly Brinker Foundation” to promote young tennis players and is president to this day.

Personal

Jeffet grew up in St. Louis and studied at Washington University . In 1956 she married the businessman Frank Jeffet. The two have two children, a son William Jeffet and a daughter Elizabetzh (Sissy) Jeffet .
