Nanping ( Chinese 南平 市 , Pinyin Nánpíng shì ) is the north - westernmost district-free city in the Chinese province of Fujian .

The city borders on the neighboring provinces of Jiangxi and Zhejiang .
climate
Like the rest of Fujian Province, Nanping has a humid subtropical climate with short, mild winters and long, hot, humid summers. The average temperature ranges from 9.7 ° C in January to 28.7 ° C in July. The annual average temperature is 19.50 ° C. Monthly rainfall is more than 200mm from March to June and gradually subsides until winter. The city has 1,721 hours of sunshine a year, with summer being the sunniest time of the year. The winters, however, are humid and cloudy.
Administrative structure
At the county level, Nanping is made up of two urban districts , five districts and three independent cities . These are:
- Yanping District (延平区), 2,660 km², 490,000 inhabitants, traditional city center;
- Jianyang District (建 阳 区), 3,378 km², 340,000 inhabitants, seat of the city government;
- District Shunchang (顺昌县), km² 1992, 240,000 inhabitants, capital: Street neighborhood Shuangxi (双溪街道);
- Pucheng district (浦城 县), 3,374 km², 410,000 inhabitants, main town: Nanpu street district (南浦 Straßen);
- Circle Guangze (光泽县) 2,232 km², 160,000 inhabitants, capital: greater community Hangchuan (杭川镇);
- District Songxi (松溪县), km² 1040, 160,000 inhabitants, capital: greater community Songyuan (松源镇);
- Circle Zhenghe (政和县), km² 1735, 220,000 inhabitants, capital: Street district Xiongshan (熊山街道);
- Shaowu City (邵武 市), 2,851 km², 300,000 inhabitants;
- Wuyishan City (武夷山 市), 2,802 km², 220,000 inhabitants;
- City of Jian'ou (建瓯市), 4,214 km², 520,000 inhabitants.

tourism
In 2002, 182,345 tourists visited Nanping City. Special sights of the city are the Wuyi Mountains and the Mangdang Mountains .
The Wuyi Mountains , on the border with Zhejiang , have become a popular tourist destination within China . It is a UNESCO World Heritage Site .

Nanping is the starting point of the Nanping – Longyan railway , a new line that opened on December 29, 2018.
